Slumdog Millionaire Plot Summary:

Some say that Slumdog Millionaire is a brilliant fairy tale but I would rather name it quite a realistic story, with little fancy in it. Indeed, those who have luck to visit India would agree that Danny Boyle and his team have done a great job on bringing out quite a graphic depiction of life of the Indian people.
Both critics and viewers keep saying in Slumdog Millionaire movie reviews that this is an extraordinary, really excellent movie with a great sense inside. Everything can be found there: an epic story, a romance, drama, tension, tragedy and all these are imbued with bunch of emotions. Anyway, dull is not the feeling you will experience on watching the movie, either on a big screen or at home. The claim this is "the feel-good film of the decade" meets all expectations!

Slumdog Millionaire is a life story of Jamal Malik who is currently an 18-year old boy and a contestant on a popular Indian version of the show 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?'. Unbelievable, but he is on his last question to win the prize. The showman and police suspect Jamal in cheating, so they are trying to beat the truth out of him. While being beaten, Jamal goes through flashbacks of his childhood memories and makes us understand how he managed to come to the show and know all the answers.

On watching the movie, nearly every viewer becomes aware of why Slumdog Millionaire won so many awards. It was nominated for ten Academy Awards and got eight of them, including those for the Best Picture and Best Director. As a result, it placed #8 in the list of films ever received eight Academy Awards. The list of honorable prizes is quite impressive actually, it will surely convince you to opt for this film.

Another, yet no less important, merit of the movie is the superb cast! Dev Patel, as a teenaged Jamal, is great, and this role brought him an international acknowledgement. But the most impressive were the kids, so convincing that it was hard to believe they are only seven years old. The film is a fantastic treat and Slumdog Millionaire movie reviews are the approvement. If you haven't yet have a chance to watch this movie, then don't miss the opportunity to enjoy it.
