Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes Plot Summary:

When the city is teeming with monkeys, who are in addition much cleverer than humans, it seems this can turn into a real nightmare. Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes movie showcases that anything a human can't explain and comprehend causes fear, and this is often a man who becomes a source of aggression rather than anybody else.

The introduction sounds a bit philosophically but this movie does contain an issue for consideration. Being great action, fantastic science fiction and serious drama movie, Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes is one of the most recommended movies to watch this year. If you haven't yet got the chance to see it, you can first read this Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes review to make sure this is a great film, but keep in mind this article contains spoilers!

Will Rodman (James Franco) is a scientists working for a huge pharmaceutical company named Gen-Syns. He struggles with creating a novel medication for Alzheimer's disease, the one his father suffers from. But after his experimental ape was shot for increased aggressiveness in her behavior, the whole experiment was brought to a close with only one baby ape surviving. As it turned out that baby ape Caesar (Andy Serkis) had the same brain power as of his mother. His intellect far exceeded human, to the extend just enough to realize how far human cruelty can go.

Though this is only the second film of Rupert Wyatt, but it revealed the great potential and talent of the director and made most of the viewers look forward to his next hit. While The Escapist was a solid start, Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes movie is a superb blockbuster with serious issues exposed. This is the film when you find yourself hesitating whose side to take: that of human or apes. Wyatt was able to make a story fast-paced yet to pack it with funny and tender scenes, so you do not feel bored while watching it.

Another praise is for actor cast. Long live Andy Serkis! Amazing transformation. First the mask of Gollum seemed to stick to him so firmly that it was hard to imagine him playing any other role better, now there is another one in his collection equally excellent and perfectly acted - Caesar. Realistic is a not the word! He is very expressive, with every move and sound of an ape. You do believe he is an ape and you become afraid of the power he has – his brains. Well, he really deserves an Oscar for his excellent acting skills. James Franco made a great team with Serkis, too: optimistic, obsessed with idea of making a new medicine and very kind to his pet. The rest of the cast was alright with Tom Felton being a really malicious villain like he was in Harry Potter series.
