Requiem For A Dream (2000)

Everyone have their way of passing time or spending their free time. Where some prefer watching movies of different kinds depending on the kind they like watching, nowadays movies, are being produced very fast hence there are many movies to watch, let's focus our attention to the movie, Requiem for a Dream this is a movie adopted from a 1978 novel by the same name written by Hubert Selby.

The movie which takes place in Brooklyn amidst the waning Coney island revolves around four characters where hopes and dreams of those four ambitious people are destroyed when their drug problems and addiction; which includes cocaine and heroin. These drugs are easily obtained hence keeping the characters in its cycle of dependence. Harry Goldfarb is into heroine while his girlfriend Marion is a cocaine addict as well as his friend Tyrone, not forgetting his widowed mother who is doing diet pills due to her television obsession.

Drugs are said to consume the mind, body and soul, hence the lives of those four individuals are shattered by their various drug addiction despite being focused to achieve great things in their lives and have a good life. This movie puts us in a position to understand and witness the world which the people addicted to drugs live in and also educating both addicts and non-addicts on the dangers involved.
