The Matrix Plot Summary:

Science fiction films have always been something that only the limited number of people could appreciate and relish. The plots of the movies of such kind are unusual, something striking but rather captivating. Among the most popular sci-fies is Matrix directed by Any and Larry Wachovsky and released in 1999. This film has won a lot of awards and had been highly appreciated by critics and science fiction fans.

In this movie the spectator will see the future where the existing reality for most of the people is a total simulation created by smart machines to override and suppress the humans by simultaneously using their bodies warmth and electrical activity as the energy source. Having heard about this, the developer named Neo (Keanu Reaves) chooses to lead a double life. He is involved into the rebellion fight where the people, who got freed from the world of dreams, are resisting the machines.

This film will suit the tastes of philosophers and the representatives of various subcultures as it describes the myth of Plato with lots of references on cyber pank and hacker subcultures, philosophy and religious ideas. Such plot versatility and the diversity of visual effects arose a lot of discussions with positive and negative implications among the fans and opponents of science fiction genre.

I doubt you have heard nothing about Matrix, not once you are a sci-fi fan. This film is now considered to be a classical example of this genre. First, due to a carefully orchestrated script, top-notch special effects, incredible philosophy to rake your brains and catchy soundtracks. Second, of course this is the star cast: Laurence Fishburne as Morpheus, Hugo Weaving as Agent Smith, Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity to name the leading ones.

Another film, which has captivated the same level of attention of spectators and science fiction fans, is Inception, a scientific fantastical thriller directed by Chris Nollan and based on the idea of conscious dreams. The professionals in spying field, using special methods for obtaining strategically important information by intruding into other people's dreams, are now studying a novel "penetration" technique – the idea of penetration into human consciousness via the dreams. This film, as well as Matrix and many sci-fi movies, has obtained positive reviews from cinema critics and has gotten lots of professional awards, having proved that such genre is highly praised and loved by many people.

As with any other movies, there can be also low quality science fiction films, but definitely Matrix and Inception are out of the list. Enjoy the movie and get another look toward our 'real' world.
