Limitless (2011)
Limitless Plot Summary:
Would you take an unknown pill to become more intelligent, faster, even richer without taking any efforts and scrutinizing the details of this tab? Apparently, there are people that would do it to change their life for better but what about after-effects?
Imagine that all the information you ever got, either learned or casually notices, is now perfectly organized in your head and you can easily pour it out whenever you want. And more so, communication skills you use to deliver your tremendous knowledge are very convincing and virtuosic. Hey, it seems this is a dream that will never come true. Only on the screen, just like in Limitless movie.
Eddie Morra (Bradley Cooper) is a bright example of transformation both physical and intellectual. His path from a tramp-looking man to a successful financier was very short, just a couple of pills. Eddie couldn't get out of a bad situation he had got in till he met his brother-in-law, who offered him to try a tiny pill called NZT-48. He did it, even without asking was it FDA approved or not. Wow, the effect was striking! Before he spent three months on procrastinating over his book, but now he wrote a great part of it for one night. Logically, Eddie was looking for more tabs to take, but he could hardly think he was not the only one to relish NZT. With some chasers following him and terrible side effects after the pill stops working, Eddie was thinking about suicide. Was he determined to commit it? Did he had enough strength to stop taking pills? The answers on these and other questions you will find in Limitless movie reviews but I hardly recommend you to watch this movie to be fully impressed by the film.
Limitless movie features incredible, I would say, nausea effects when you find yourself piercing through the screen into the atmosphere of the film. It would be very impressive when presented in 3D to reveal how addictive it can be. The idea of two worlds, gloomy loser and bright winner one, is great for enhancing the effect of NZT pill, making it so appealing when it works and so disgusting when it stops working. And the visual effects perfectly correspond the idea of the film.
The story does have some unexpected twists to keep a viewer involved, not that this is a story of Eddie a flawless superman. It's interesting to watch it till ending credits as it's hard to guess what the issue is about, you will find it only in a final speech of Eddie and Carl (Robert De Niro). Once you have some spare time to watch the movie, entertain yourself with it instead of getting the information from Limitless movie reviews and take a challenge to find an answer to the question "Would you like to try that pill?".
