I Love You Phillip Morris (2010)
I Love You Phillip Morris Plot Summary:
Jim Carey has given us some memorable performances as a comedian. I Love you, Phillip Morris is another one done by him with a difference that it peeps inside the mind of a person who suddenly realizes he has turned into a homosexual person. In the movie, Jim plays a city cop; Steven Russell who is happily married to Debbie. He is shown on deathbed recalling the events of his life. He is shown as a simple man playing organ at the local church, has sex with his wife and also prays along with her at nights. When he gets some time off, he engages in searching his biological mother who left him as an orphan. He meets with a car accident which changes his personality and he suddenly decides to live life to the fullest. He decides to earn a lot of money and live the life in a grand style. He leaves his wife and moves to Miami with a boyfriend, and lives a very lavish lifestyle. He engages in a lot of cons that ultimately land him in prison. Steve meets Phillip Morris there who is a soft spoken person and instantly starts to love him. Steven has no qualms about being a homosexual and he confesses his love for Phillip. When Phillip is released from the prison, Steve tries to break free and reunite with Phillip. He cannot bear separation from Phillip and engages in all sorts of tricks and cons which is what the film is all about.
In one of the scenes, Steve Russell is shown pretending to be a doctor trying to break free from the jail. In another, he pretends to be a judge talking on phone and ordering his own release. The film is full of all these funny incidents which are trade mark comedy of Jim Carey.
