Fight Club (1999)
Fight Club Plot Summary:
The fans of Brad Pitt, who are impatiently waiting for his each new film, will appreciate his work at Fight club, the film directed by David Fincher, the author of another well-known movie of 2010 titled Social Network. Fight Club was released in 1999 and has won a lot of cinema awards and has been highly praised by critics as well as viewers despite the fact that it caused some discrepancies. Plus this film has once again proved that Brad Pitt is amazing at performing diverse characters, who always turn to be complete and captivating. Just to set an example let's take Inglorious Bastards, where he looks very organic in the role of a martial rebellion making the viewers believe that he is capable to cope only with the roles of such type. Though, Brad has proved the opposite having demonstrated the convincing care and love towards children as the father in The Tree of Life.
In Fight Club we meet Brad Pitt in a totally different role of a cunning person. To be precise this film tells the story about three people. First is the Narrator (Edward Norton), a typical nameless yuppie working for car corporation. He often goes on business trips to the places of car accidents. He earns his living quite well and this turned him in quite a cynical person keen on buying new things for the sake of comfort. He suffers from insomnia, thus has difficulties with differentiating a dream from reality. His doctor encourages him to take sport and apply for a support group of patients suffering from more serious illnesses to make him realize that his disorder is insignificant. Facing real, harder sufferers allows the Narrator to get rid from his own depression. However he turns into a 'vampire' feeding with the sufferings of other people. During his visits to support groups he meets Marla (Helena Bonhem Carter), who thinks she can dye any minute. The same as Marla the Narrator hopes he will die in a plane crash each time he steps on the board, but this doesn't happen. Instead a plane is the place where he meets Tyler (Brad Pitt). Their next meeting caused a fight, which in turn laid the foundation for creating the Fight Club. After one of the rows Tyler disappears and the Narrator tries to find him. In search of Tyler he realizes that Tyler is his alter ego. Will he be able to control himself?
The plot is quite controversial and may cause wrong thoughts and ideas in those people, who are prone for various kinds of illegal and devastating activities. So this film is not recommended for the spectators with instable psychic condition. Moreover, the character played by Brad Pitt (he was very convincing!) may prompt people with psychic disorders to repeat his actions in real life. Nevertheless, with all these restrictions this drama movie won the hearts of lots of viewers and is now one of most high-rated films.
