Fast Five (2011)
Fast Five Plot Summary:
Making a sequel to a movie is painful. Viewers have much expectations for it but when they are not met they use to blame the movie, especially its director. In this regard Justin Lin is a desperate director taking a challenge of producing the fifth Fast Five sequel!
This time the events takes place in Rio de Janeiro, a location found in many recent films. Brain O'Conner (Paul Walker), Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Mia (Jordana Brewster) are fugitives hiding in the city. They are still have a fond love for cars and speed, so stealing jaw-dropping sport cars from a moving train seems an easy meat for them. But they also have a longing for justice, thus decide to put down a local villain Reyes (Joaquim de Almedia), a drug dealer hiding under the guise of a businessman. This task is too hard for a team of three, so they decide to recrute real professionals to rob Reyes. And this by the way, is not easy to do. Apparently, Fast Five movie is worth seeing, at least to find out how the characters manage to get out of a complicated situation.
Judging from lots of Fast Five reviews, this is probably the best sequel after the original of course. Knowingly this is one of the best action movie of 2011. The plot goes through an old known scheme where good guys decide to give a good lesson to bad guys. But there is a trick that makes a story even more exciting, especially when you find you were cheated as well as the rest of the characters. As in most of action films, here you will find little realism. Once shooting starts, bullets hit everyone except protagonists.
There was a pleasant surprise though. It was nice to see some characters from the previous sequels including Gisele (Gal Gadot), Hav (Sung Kang), Tej (Chris "Ludacris" Bridges) and Roman (Tyrese Gibson). They alongside Tego (Tego Calderon) and Rico (Don Omar) make a solid support to Vin Diesel and Paul Walker.
Unfortunately what Fast Five movie lacks is lot of racing. Little screen time were alloted to cars, not as much as in Fast and Furious, which is a kind of standard for all the rest sequels in a franchise. But the plot is involving and fast-paced so you won't be boring at all. And there are many, many action scenes! So if you are the fan of those you will be please for sure.
