Cars 2 (2011)
Cars 2 Plot Summary:
You can come across many Cars reviews telling that Cars movie is a number one choice for demo when one wants to boast his or her high-end home theater video system. Indeed, so bright, speedy and musical beginning are peculiar to this amazing, one of the best animated movies ever. Now you understand why Cars 2 was so anticipated this year, but was it as good as its prequel?
There is a tendency to compare the sequels to the first part of the movie and nothing can be done to it. So, it's hard to be unbiased when watching Cars 2 animated movie. Though again this is the most speedy, fast and funny cartoon created by Pixar, it still haven't meet the expectations of the viewers. The truth is the second part lacks that deep initial philosophy and some extra touch found in Cars and other Pixar's cartoons, instead you can see lots of adventure and action scenes, that are still interesting to watch but they leave little for consideration.
Lightning McQueen is currently living in Radiator Springs alongside his girlfriend Sally and best friend Mater. Racing is the last thing he dreams of, however he is challenged to take part in a racing series known as World Grand Prix. As you further understand, the racing was just a covering event for Professor Zundapp to promote oil, as he is the owner of the largest oil reserves all around the world. So, this was racing for death and life, a bit unexpected turn of events from Pixar. Some racing cars are equipped with weapon misrepresented as the television cameras and they were intended to ignite the biofuel and make the visitors to doubt 'green' fuel. But apart of 'bad guys' there were spies who tried to foil the evil plan and find out who was responsible for it. While Lightning McQueen is fully engrossed with racing, Mater is involved in a complicated intrigue, but he managed to sort out this problem just well, being too naïve and funny at a time.
Simply put, Cars 2 resembles rather Bond movie with the same fast pace and swifts of events than a kid story. Probably too much attention was paid to combine spy stuff and cars, but it wasn't that good actually. However there is a wow moment to admire, this is the opening scene on a drilling platform: unbelievably fast chase and fantastic gadgets – these would be a nice piece for the next great demo. Still, if you like Pixar animated movies and Cars in particular, then you should watch the sequel regardless of all those Cars 2 movie reviews to have your own idea of the picture.
