You've Got Mail (1998)

Kathleen Kelly (Meg Ryan) is the owner of a cute children's bookstore named The shop around the corner. Joe Fox (Tom Hanks) runs a chain of gigantic bookshops, he is Kelly's rival number one, who is about to put her out of business. Well, it is easy predict the happy end of the story, however this wasn't the initial goal of this romantic movie. When Kelly starts communicating with "NY152" by email, the last person she can guess this can be is Joe Fox, whom she considers to be arrogant, self-assured, who won't stop till get what he wants. Pretty Woman (1990)


Usually these are kids who tend to believe in dreams coming true. Grown-ups, who have already faced hard reality of life, lose faith in miracles. However, a love movie "Pretty Woman" is a great treat of how a woman can experience a little wonder.

Richard Gere and Julia Roberts (as Edward Lewis and Vivian Ward respectively) give awesome performance of an acute businessman and a pretty prostitute. He is prudent and longing for profit, and she is rather intelligent and really pretty. Having nothing in common, they still manage to meet each other, and it turns to be the starting point of their romantic relationships. So cold at first sight, Edward realizes the only thing he lacks is such a sweet girl as Vivian, whose playful character makes him reconsider his life principles. Full of memorable lines, funny moments and star performances, this movie is worth to be in the list of best romantic movies of all time. Enjoy a sweet story of cinderella!

Runaway Bride (1999)


What are you afraid of? Some would say they are afraid of mice, rats or spiders, others would admit they are fearful of job prospects, but Maggie Carpenter is scared of ...getting married. This strange phobia is playfully depicted in a top romantic movie "Runaway Bride".

Are you a fan of "Pretty Woman"? Then you are welcome to see Julia Roberts and Richard Gere paired again. Julia Roberts as Maggie Carpenter has an exceptional habit – she runs away from her wedding ceremonies just being a couple of steps from the altar. Pearl Harbor (2001)


War is always nasty, painful and tragic. However, this is the very place where feelings are bare, when there is no time to hide them from someone else waiting for a finest moment, because it may not come again. Michael Bay took the tragedy of Pearl Harbour to depict non the less tragic love story.

Bosom friends Danny (Josh Hartnett) and Rafe (Ben Affleck) are dreaming of flying; when grown-ups they are Army Air Corps pilots. Nothing seems to break a solid bond of friendship until they meet... a woman. Evelyn (Kate Beckinsale) is a navy nurse, whom Rafe falls in love with. But the battlefield is where the bad news become a daily routine. After Danny and Evelyn get the news about Rafe's death, they find consolation in each other. They could hardly predict Rafe would survive. So, what's next? Add to this breathtaking battle scenes and dialogs, and you will understand why "Pearl Harbor" deserves to be in the list of best romantic movies.

Just Like Heaven (2005)


One say "marriages are made in heaven", and there is no doubt this is true. However, a love movie "Just Like Heaven" reveals the viewers that heaven is also a place for simply sweet love affairs alongside marriages.

Brokeback Mountain (2005)


Speaking about love, we usually associates it with something heartwarming, inspiring, tender and affectionate, the feeling between man and woman. "Brokeback Mountain" is a top romantic movie, that won a huge number of awards, including three Oscar Awards and four Golden Globe awards, and it aims to ruin the traditional view on love.

Ang Lee had enough courage to present sensual screen adaptation of what everybody knew but haven't dare to show yet. Two boys Ennis del Mar (Heath Ledger) and Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal) fall in love with each other while they were tending sheep in the mountains. They know their relationships will be rejected by society, so they decide to lead "a normal" life. However, the feelings they discovered on the Brokeback mountain never fade and they carry them through the whole life.

A Lot Like Love (2005)


People used to take ups and downs in their lives for granted: if there is a down, there will be an up next. But could you think of something different? What if you just need someone to be always on top? One of the best romance movie "A Lot Like Love" claims to know the answer on what one needs for complete fulfillment.

The story goes back seven years, when Emely (Amanda Peet) and Oliver (Ashton Kutcher) first met on their flight to New York city. Full of hopes and believes in business success, Oliver gives Emely his telephone number just to call and check whether his dreams come true. After the series of meetings during these long seven years, both discover paradoxical regularity: while one of them is successful in both life and career, another one is struggling through difficulties of life. As a result, they make a decision to be together.

Armageddon (1998)


Love is everlasting, it overcomes pain, parting, fare and sufferings. But could love overcome all these afflictions in the end of time? Tragic yet so true love is shown in "Armageddon", a Sci-Fi disaster movie.

Unbelievable superb cast – Bruce Willis, Liv Tyler, Ben Affleck, William Fichtner, Owen Willson, Steve Buscemi and not only – are ready to save the world and they are to do it alongside real NASA team. Michael Bay did a great job to combine seemingly incompatible: professionalism of soldiers and sentimental of a loving couple. Indeed, the chemistry between A.J.Frost (Ben Affleck) and Grace (Liv Tyler) is awesome and adds a zest of sweetness to the movie motion. If you want to enjoy gorgeous music, breathtaking action scenes, love romance, passion and fair, then "Armageddon" is the right choice.

The Wedding Planner (2001)


Romantic movies, especially those that are light-hearted and "eye-moisterizing", usually have the ending that you can predict just from the opening credits. But the most interesting thing is to enjoy funny moments, witty dialogs and irony going through the whole film. "The Wedding Planner" has a bunch of to enjoy!

First, Jennifer Lopez as Maria makes this love movie worth seeing. As you can guess, she is a wedding planner and the one who planes the wedding of Steve Edison (Matthew McConaughey) and Fran (Bridgette Wilson). However, she meets Steve and falls in love with him before she discovers he is engaged to her most respectful client Fran. Oops, how will they sort out this situation? The best way to find out this is to watch this top movie romance, which is really very funny, entertaining and romantic.

Working Girl (1988)


There is always a risk somebody can take your good ideas for one's own; this is rather frustrating especially when it happens at work, where you are longing for promotion. The similar situation is shown in a romantic movie "Working Girl".

Though the film was shoot in 1988, but it depicts the problems that are common today. Tess (Melanie Griffith) is a smart secretary working for a stock broker, she has just completed a business course by attending night classes. She works for Katharine Parker (Sigourney Weaver), who at first sight is very open and reliable, but as it turns out she is the one who gives up her moral principles for the sake of her job promotion. Apart from business, there is a sweet love story line between Tess and Jack Trainer (Harrison Ford), the executive of another stock broker company. "Working girl" is just the perfect mixture of love romance and business competition seasoned with awesome acting!
