The year 2011 has already produced the best animated movies that movie lovers could imagine and there are still more to come. The animation movies 2011 that are coming out and have been released already are movies that the whole family can enjoy. These movies have taken everyone by surprise. This is because they have exceeded everyone's expectations. So don't be surprised when you check out some of the movies below that have been listed as the top movies of 2011. Some of these movies have already been released and you may have already seen while others may be ones that you are waiting patiently for.
Rio (April 15th)
Rio comes from the same people who created "Ice Age" so you should automatically have known that this movie would be one of the best 3d movies of 2011. It has the name Rio because it takes place in the Brazilian city Rio de Janeiro. Some of the voices that can be easily recognized throughout the movie are George Lopez and Anne Hathaway. Rio tells the tell of how Blu, whose voice is Jesse Eisenburg, and Jewel, whose voice is Anne Hathaway, fall in love and have to try to escape from Nigel, whose voice is Jemaine Clement. This film was released in the United States on April 15, 2011 and has been a huge success.
Rango (March 4th)
Rango is a western comedy film that the entire family can enjoy. It starts off with Rango, whose voice is Johnny Depp, becoming stranded in the desert when he falls off of his family's car. One second he is just an ordinary pet chameleon and then the next his whole world has been changed around. Throughout the movie Rango meets a lot of other interesting animals and he tells a few lies however because of luck he is able to make the lies believable. A lot of movies viewers have classified Rango as one of the best animated movies of 2011.
Kung Fu Panda 2 (May 26th)
Kung Fu Panda 2 is the sequel of Kung Fu Panda, which was released in 2008. This film was released on May 26, 2011 and was an instant hit among adults and children. In this movie Po teams up with new kung fu masters in hopes of defeating an old enemy with a new weapon that is very deadly. The whole movie is very enjoyable and has a bunch of twists and turns. No wonder it makes the list of being one of the best 3d animated movies of 2011
Cars 2 (June 24th)
If you liked the 2006 version of Cars then you will love Cars 2. It was released on June 24, 2011 in the United States. As the name hints the movie is based on cars ruling the world. In the movie Lightening McQueen, whose voice is Owen Wilson, and his friend Mater, whose voice is Larry the Cable Guy, travel to go compete in a race. However, once over their Mater gets pulled into his own adventure.
Puss in Boots (November 4th)
Ever wonder how Puss in Boots met up with Shrek? With this animated film you will be able to find out all the details that have always been pondering in your mind. This whole movie is based on the things that lead of to the meeting of Puss in Boots and Shrek. This is what Shrek lovers have been wanting to know every since Shrek was released and now the year 2011 has finally brought the answers that everyone has been waiting for. Will it be the way you expected or will it be something totally out the ordinary? The only way to find out is to watch and see.
The Muppets (November 23rd)
Just when you thought the Muppets were finished they have brought you another great movie to watch. This movie is expected to be released on November 23, 2011 and everyone is already saying that it is going to be one of the best animated movies ever. In this Muppets film oil is discovered beneath the Muppets Theater and Tex Richman (the oil man) want to drill. However, Walter and some of his buddies find out what he is up to and try to stop him by raising a very large amount of money. But in order for the money to be raised first all of the Muppets must reunite. The Muppets have all started doing other careers on their own so this may be a very difficult task. Will they be able to do it or will Tex Richman be able to succeed with his evil plan?
Gnomeo and Juliet (February 11th)
Gnomeo and Juliet brings Shakespeare famous play "Romeo and Juliet" to the animation world. It was released February 11, 2011. In the movie the gardens are at war with each other yet the gnomes, Gnomeo and Juliet, are madly in love. Will they be able to make their relationship work or will others destroy it?
The Smurfs (July 29th)
Everyone remembers the television show "The Smurfs" yet know they have made the classic television show that everyone loves into an animated movie. The creators have been working on this movie for over a year and now they have finally set a firm release late for July 29, 2011. In the movie Gargamel finds the Smurfs village and runs them away into a wooded area. They all get scattered and some of them end up into the modern world of New York City. They live with a married couple but they are hoping to be able to find their way back to their village before Gargamel gets to them. Will they make it home safely of will Gargamel find them first?
Happy Feet 2 (November 18th)
If you loved the first Happy Feet then you must see Happy Feet 2. It is expected to be released November 18, 2011. In this movie Mumble has a son, Erik, who does not want to dance. Then to make matters worse the world gets shaken by powerful forces. What will Mumble be able to do to get things back on track? Will he be able to do this successfully with the help of the penguin nations?
The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn (December 23rd)
The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn is destined to a fantastic movie because the creators of it have been working on it for a very long time. It was expected to be released in 2010 but now they have set a release date of December 23, 2011 for the United States. However, movie lovers are saying this movie is definitely more than worth the wait. In this movie Tintin and his friends find directions to a sunken ship. They decide that they want to go off on a journey in hopes of finding it. Will they succeed?
