Not to be confused with the genre remake, sequels are more like a part two, part three, and so forth because they generally take the original characters from a movie that was a success, and send them on to another voyage or another story woven for the fans who loved it the first time around. Movies like Sleepless in Seattle and You’ve Got Mail (Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan) are not the same characters depicted in each film, but rather the same actors paired successfully in another similar movie. But the film Sleepless in Seattle was a remake of an older movie titled The Shop Around the Corner made in 1940.
