Remake

The more popular movies, aka those that make a ton of money, are very often found to be remade at a later date because movie makers seem to conclude that if it worked good once, it will work again. And they are very often right. The Shaggy Dog (Fred McMurray and a dog) from 1959 was successfully remade in 2006 starring Tim Allen and a dog. The giant ape has been resurrected several times since the original King Kong in 1933. As the media improves over the decades, so do the movies in terms of special effects. Recently (1999) The Taking of Pelham One Two Three was remade and updated with new cast and faster action (amazing chase scenes).
