Probably the most popular of all movie genre is the Drama. Actors and actresses show the stuff they’re made of in a good dramatic role. Movies like to tell us a story and when good writing and emotional themes told by realistic characters are presented, they get us involved and thinking for two hours or so. Movies dealing with alcoholism, racial prejudice, crime, and corruption allow us to feel secure in our own safe little world. Movies like The Manchurian Candidate, Blackhawk Down, and Valentino: The Last Emperor are not only highly entertaining, they make us think. And they entertain us.
