Biographic movies have long been a popular genre in movies. Many of us want to see the “real” people behind the celebrity image. Movies like Walk the Line (Johnny Cash), Pumping Iron (Arnold Schwarzenegger), The Buddy Holly Story (Buddy Holly), or The Right Stuff (space program) are among the most entertaining films ever made and actually offer some insight into the lives of very well known people. Biopic or biography style movie making means that sometimes the facts may be altered a bit to make the movie more entertaining. Example: Buddy Holly (The Buddy Holly Story) did not actually get a tooth knocked out while on stage. Additionally, some biopic movies tend to take liberties with some historical facts but that is considered part of their dramatic license to entertain.
